Threads gained over 70 million users in two days – Kommersant

The Threads social network from Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) gained over 70 million users in two days after its launch. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg declaredthat such a success exceeded all expectations of the company.

Threads is a clone of Twitter, which had 237.8 million users as of July 2022. In Threads, users can chat about trending topics, find Instagram bloggers and chat with them, and share ideas and creativity.

The exit of Threads was accompanied by controversial actions by Twitter, which limited the number of tweets available to view, and also banned unregistered users from viewing Twitter. Threads is part of Instagram, and due to the linking of profiles, it will not be possible to delete only one of the accounts. The application has also become first by downloads in the Russian AppStore.
