Rosalkogolregulirovanie (RAR) supports the initiative of the head of the State Duma faction “A Just Russia – For the Truth” Sergei Mironov and deputy Yana Lantratova to lift the moratorium on unscheduled inspections in the production and circulation of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products. Igor Alyoshin, head of the RAR, announced this to the Ministry of Economy. At the same time, the department recognized it as inexpedient to introduce a state monopoly on the production and circulation of ethyl alcohol.

“Rosalkogolregulirovanie supports the initiative to lift the moratorium on unscheduled inspections and other control (supervisory) activities in the production and circulation of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products,” says Mr. Aleshin in a letter (quoted from TASS).

RAR opposes the introduction of a state monopoly on the production and circulation of ethyl alcohol because such a measure would require “significant costs” from the federal budget associated with the state’s acquisition of a controlling stake in organizations.

The deputies put forward their initiative against the backdrop of mass poisoning with the drink “Mr. Cider” in early June. They poisoned 106 people, of whom 36 died.

The State Duma, meanwhile, proposed to ban the sale of beer, cider and mead in public catering, registered as an individual entrepreneur, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade – enter methanol government regulation.
