Maxim Basov leaves the post of head of SUEK – Kommersant


SUEK CEO Maxim Basov leaves his post on July 9, and Alexander Redkin is appointed in his place on July 10. This was reported to Kommersant by a representative of the company. Mr. Basov was appointed to this post in April 2022. Alexander Redkin has served as Deputy General Director since 2008.

According to the representative, under the leadership of Mr. Basov, the company carried out a restructuring to fit the new economic realities. The strategy and the holding team were updated. The Board of Directors thanked Mr. Basov and wished him success.

SUEK is the largest coal holding in Russia. As reported on the company’s website, SUEK’s coal production in 2022 amounted to 113.9 million tons, international sales volume – 42.5 million tons. The former beneficiary of the company is Andrey Melnichenko.
