Journalist Elena Milashina, who was injured in an attack by unidentified persons in the Chechen Republic, said that she had a serious concussion, but she was already getting better.

The victim did not have broken fingers, although the attackers, after threatening to cut off her finger, “began to beat each finger, methodically.”

The journalist noted that the attackers “were very specific, they knew what they wanted, what their limits were, beyond which they could not go.”

On Tuesday, July 4, in Chechnya, journalist Yelena Milashina and lawyer Alexander Nemov were attacked in Chechnya by unknown persons. As a result, the first had broken fingers and a shaved head, while the second had stab wounds.

Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov promised to look into the matter. He said that he had instructed the competent services to make every effort to identify the attackers. At the same time, law enforcement agencies began to work immediately after reports of the incident appeared.
