European countries lead in the number of vacancies for Russian-speaking IT specialists – Kommersant

European countries are in first place in terms of the number of vacancies for Russian-speaking IT specialists. This was reported Forbes with reference to the study of the educational platform “Netology” and the communication agency Zecomms Agency.

Netology and Zecomms Agency analyzed more than 800,000 vacancies that were published on the world’s largest HR platform Indeed from March to May 2023 in Europe, the USA, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East. The study took into account vacancies for website developers, mobile applications, project managers, consultants, administrators, UI / UX designers and a dozen more IT specialists requiring knowledge of the Russian language.

According to the study, in Europe such offers accounted for 3% of vacancies, in other regions – 1%. The largest demand for Russian-speaking IT specialists was recorded in Hungary and Poland. There, in every fifth ad there was a requirement for knowledge of the Russian language. Such employees were also searched for in Austria and Greece (4% of the total number of vacancies each), Denmark and the Czech Republic (2% each), Ireland and Romania (1% each).

In a conversation with Forbes, the founder of Zecomms Agency Evgenia Zaslavskaya connected this with the massive relocation of business and specialists to Europe after the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine. “Many are registering companies in Europe, transporting employees or hiring specialists locally from among immigrants,” Ms. Zaslavskaya said.
