Elton John gave the last performance in his homeland


Elton John, British musician, gave the audience his last performance in his homeland at the Glastonbury Music Festival.

Sir Elton performed on the most prestigious stage of the festival – Pyramid Stage (“Pyramid Stage”). At this concert, the musician was observed not only by the audience, but also by many British media that broadcast online.

The musician performed many of his hits, inviting several famous guests to the stage. He opened with the 1976 Pinball Wizard and continued with hits such as Bennie and the Jets, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Your Song, Candle in the Wind, Tiny Dancer (with The Killers lead singer Brandon Flowers), I’m Still Standing, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (with Rina Sawayama).

Sir Elton also dedicated the performance to his friend and colleague George Michael with Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me. The concert ended with Rocket Man and fireworks. Elton John’s farewell tour, the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, was the highest-grossing tour in history, with $817.9 million by the end of January 2023 after 278 shows. The tour is due to end on July 8, 2023 in Stockholm. Elton John is ranked 49th in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the greatest performers and is the owner of five Grammy awards, two Oscars and two Golden Globes. In 1994, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
