The director of the film “The Challenge” Klim Shipenko revealed the reason for his absence from the state award ceremony in the Kremlin. According to the master, he was busy filming a new project. Shipenko told reporters about this at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, TASS reports.

“I was busy filming the film Kholop,” the director said, adding that the filming process of Kholop-2 was recently completed in St. Petersburg.

Recall that earlier Shipenko, together with actress Yulia Peresild and Channel One General Director Konstantin Ernst, received the State Prize in Literature and Art in 2022 for the creation of the film “Challenge”, the first film shot in space aboard the International Space Station (ISS). The picture, which was released on April 20, collected more than 1 billion rubles in 2 weeks.

Earlier, the director stated that he did not receive a state award for this film.
